Our service aims to provide a safe environment for people and horses to work through issues they may be facing that have an adverse affect on their day to day living.
We have a range of activities with the horses that help people overcome personal hurdles, some of which include:
2. Low Self-Esteem
and much more.
"Empathy is the starting point for creating a community and taking action. It's the impetus for creating change." -Max Carver
Why is 'empathy' an important skill for life?
Empathy gives us awareness of feelings and emotions of others and helps us to understand what an individual is experiencing. Empathy is a massive building block to Emotional Intelligence and leads an individual to a more understanding, helpful way of life.
"The day with you guys was great, a very creative way to show people how horses should be treated and a good experience for me" -Jordan Paterson
"I am happy how today turned out, you're a great teacher and I feel privilaged to learn from you"
- Cindy Stubenhofer (Student of Psychology at Stirling University).
"I don't know how to put into words what being at Katie's Cradle did to me. From the first visit something just happened, a calmness I've never experienced before. The horses make you look at yourself, even the bits you don't like and it makes you want to be and do better. I don't get up as much as I would like but I'm always thinking about the horses and the people. Everyone involved with the charity are phenomenal humans and I'm a better person for being around them and the horses."
